Soak and Blend Lentils

Soak yellow lentil overnight in water. Throw the water out & blend the daals into a paste. Add salt, 1/2 tsp each coriander, cumin, turmeric, red chilli and chaat masala powder.

Shape and Fry Lentil Patties

In your palms, flatten the paste into small burger size shapes, deep fry in oil. Flip once. Take out of oil and let it cool.

Soak and Squeeze Patties

Soak in water for 10 mins till soft. Squeeze the water out and lay the barras in a shallow bowl.

Add Vegetables

Sprinkle 1/2 cup sliced cabbage & 1 small onion sliced on top of the barras. Set aside.

Prepare Yoghurt Mixture

In a bowl add 3 cups sweetened yoghurt and whisk together, 1 tbsp sugar, 1 tsp each chaat masala, minced garlic, red chilli flakes, 1 tsp tamarind paste. Pour mixture over the barras.

Garnish

Garnish with sliced green chillies, sliced cabbage and onions, drops of imli chutney, red chilli flakes, chaat masala, green chutney (comes in a bottle) and some drops of strawberry jam all over.
